 Thanks Murf!

Pol: Do double check that what I've said makes sense with the wiring diagram, and that I haven't made a mistake before you go connection 12v to various things like the CEM! I don't want to be responsible for you damaging anything!

Thanks for all you help, Richard, Ben and Chris...

It was just the earth strap to the gearbox. The first thing I checked, but obviously not well enough. Just had the dash apart to start your tests ben, when I thought i'd try rpruens tests one more time... And he sure was right! Thank you..... Only..... :badmood: My gearbox went crunch and now I need another one! :badmood: Can't be bothered with fucking around with the one I re-built. It is stuck in a gear so it's going in the spares pile. Need to source a decent replacement now. What a waste of a week though :(

I feel better knowing the problems ahead of me now. Was very confused over this earth problem. As Martin suggested, it's good to just take time out and a drink. Sleep on the problem.

Thanks for all the help. I'll be back when I have a new gearbox!

No problem. I'll always try to help out if I can.

Ouch, glad you got it sorted, even if the gearbox is no good. If it makes you feel any better I rebuilt the gearbox on my Civic (over £500 in parts alone!) to have the engine go bang a month later. The particular type of VTEC engine was only made for a year, so to the scrappy it went :( as no hope of getting another.
