Auto gearbox and Dexron fluid.

Post by gingherheed » Mon Nov 08, 2010 9:01 pm

Asked GSF to tell me which fluid I need for my auto box. They said Dexron G (based on the car reg). They don't stock it and can't get it quick so I asked Volvo. They got it pronto and it turns out to be Dexron 3 (for all ZF boxes in the 400 series) HAve I got the right stuff? How do I find out if mine is a ZF box?

Cheers all.

Got the correct fluid off Volvo. £23 for 4L so cheap too! Just finished refilling and already the auto box is way smoother through the gears. This is a really easy job to do so if your car has done over 100k then I'd recommend you do it.
