Am a proud owner of a 1991 Volvo 480 turbo auto, drove around the house and later parked. I have been warming it up daily 'cause it's been parked for a long time. Suddenly I heard a winein sound which has never been there before, after a while it stopped. Today as I started the car the winein sound started again and later stopped, I engaged the gear in drive but the car won't move, I went through all the gear selection yet it won't move. I swiched off the engine and engaged gear in drive then opened the bonnet and physically moved the selector on the gear box forth and back. I now engaged in N and started the engine, after a while I engaged in D and the car moved, then tried it in R and it responded, but subsequent trial failed to move the car. I checked the transmission fluid and was ok. Please what could be the problem? I need help.
