OMP racing clutch

Post by V480TI » Thu Feb 05, 2009 7:53 pm

After reading several messages on :: der kleine elch
German 480 forum, the sport clutch of the Renault Megane 2.0 16 v fase 1 will fit the 480 turbo (215millimeter)

But you can get 2 sorts of clutches :: splain 24 or 26.

Does this matter or what ???
Somebody knows the answer ??

thanks and greetz

Hi there V480Ti,
in stead of our recent PM's again now on the forum:

http://www.ompracing.it/lista.php3
OMP speaks only of 26 splain and so they should, correct meassures are:
20x21,9 x 26N : that is 26 splain

original Volvo 480 clutch spec's are: 20x21,4 x 26N
but evenso the 20x21,9 x 26N will fit !
(you know i fitted a Renault spec SRE clutch in my ex-480 !)

OMP also has a clutch-cover in stock to fit this cluch-plate, then you can have a comlete sports-clutch kit.But i can't tell you if the cover will fit,
i only know that for 100% sure for the SRE version.
( also don't forget to buy a new clutch-bearring !!)

succes and greetz
For now no more 480's : maybe some day ....?

It is splines (spiebanen ;) )

However you would check the maximum torque rating of these clutches at OMP, since a Megane 2.0 16V doesn't produce much torque then a standard 480 Turbo.

jaja dankjewel :D

It is indeed wise to get that info from OMP.
Will look into it, the other option is indeed the SRE, but I dont want to sell my kidney for it.

thanks and greetz
