Clutch cable fitting (new 93> type)
I tried to replace the clutch cable today, and while footery it loks straightforward enough, however when everything is lined up at the pedal end, the barrel on the end of the cable will not slide into the hole in the lever on the pedal.
It looks easy enough and I've had the cable lying right along where its meant to go a few times, but always the fit is too tight
How tight is it normally? Could the fact is is so cold just now have made it even harder due to the metal contracting?
Any advice would be appreciated

Clutch cable fitting
Hi there hailesmail,
replaced mine yesterday, so still fresh in memory;
won't slide in this way for a good reason, would slide out just as easy.
if you look at the lever as beiing in vertical position, line up the cable
but then bend the top end, so the barrel goes in the lever-hole with the cable in horizontal position as in top-end of barrel first.
Then when inserted push the cable 90º down, then the barrel and
cable will slide in thus being locked against sliding out.
hope this will help.

Thanks a lot, I actually suspect this may be the way, but didnt want to kink the cable, I'll try again when i get time to have another go and let you know how it goes.

i found it easier to remove the clutch pedal from the pedal box, the fit the cable in, attach the cable at the fork end on the gear box, then replace the clutch pedal....is a lot easier than fiddling around upside down.
remove the instrument cluster so you can see what youre doing with the pedal box too.....is soo much easier.

I did what robkendall did, there was some photos on here of how to undo the bolt at the top. Requires sticking loads of socket extensions together!
One of the tricky parts I found was trying to get the rubber grommit into the bulkhead and also the other grommit on the bracket near the clutch.
