Stiff clutch pedal.

Having changed my clutch cable im finding my pedal to be increasingly stiff. I have toyed with the adjustment but to no avail.

Its virtually impossible to smoothly pull away as it just seems to hit a point when you press it when it needs more force to get past it, i.e its reluctant to disengage. Its the same when you release it. Its just not smooth anymore

What bits should i target with grease then and more specifically what sort of grease?!
