FFS!
I was on my way to MR King to do my 1st of 3 trial days with the company, and the effin' clutch went. So towed home, it's now sitting in the drive.
Next question i have is this: i can't determine what clutch size it is, and people are having trouble to as mine was the changeover year. I'm being told because of the chassis number mines a later clutch, so i'm presuming it's the larger clutch, which is 235mm??
I just called Volvo, and they want £212 + VAT for the parts alone, they don't do a kit for it anymore.
So i'm on the hunt for a new clutch...and as i'll be getting a company car with Volvo, i may consider selling it... But in the mean time, i gotta fix the bloody thing!
Er, yeah, so larger size is 235 right?
Clutch gone...

Thats a bit strange....clutches slip before they need replacing usually. Unless your release bearing has disintegrated or something?
Are you sure its not the cable as indicated above?
I've had 2 clutches off ebay, a chap on there clears motaquip parts every three months. Not much use for when you need on urgently. In any case its a 215mm clutch. (sliver manifold/blue ecu usually).
I believe they can be got for £105.

Hi mate,
Email this guy http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/*martyn57*
He has sorted me out with 2 clutch kits. One for my 406 which cost £30 and was a Valeo Clutch in a different box and is superb.
Also got one for a mates 306. That was £35 but once again great service. The next cheapest I could find was around teh £65 mark when speaking with europarts and GSF.
His email is 'martyn.mbcclutch@hotmail.co.uk' and is really great to deal with. Postage is a tenner and he sends next day TNT and gives you a tracking number.
Good luck!

Thanks for the replies guys...
With regards to clutch slip, i have had it a few times-first noticeable when i got the Rich Mod. I tried to pull away from the lights after a pretty long run with Groom, and when i pulled away, the revs went through the roof and the car didn't move (well, it did, but very slowly)...i looked quite the fool
The clutch does slip from time to time, but it's so inconsistent and so far apart-i think it's been on the cards for a while. I've been waiting for it to go for a fair bit now-it's never been as smooth as i'd liked since i got it, so this just confirmed my suspicions really.
@ JT-you sure it's a 215mm? Probably getting it down to the garage on Monday, so shouldn't be too long off the road!

Still sounds odd.
My 90T had a worn out clutch. It would drive, better when cold, but barely...the car took a good while to get to 60 for instance.
In any case, yes, 215mm it is. I've done two late clutches.
Blue/green ecus = late flywheel = 215mm
