Gearbox drain thread gone

Post by pol » Mon May 21, 2007 12:38 pm

I have pretty much stripped the alloy thread on the gearbox drain hole.

Ooops... Anyone tapped / re-tapped these? Do you know the size? It's holding out for now with a bit of threadlock..

Nope, its a real thread!

Could do, could doooo...

I think i may try and find a spare drain key, and then a tap t fit... Or maybe I could just fit a real tap there, like a garden tap? Then I could easily drain the oil whenI break stuff? Whadyareckon?
