help my clutch is pants

Post by felyx » Sat Apr 14, 2007 11:14 am

hi people this was originally posted in transmission but no answers since march 27th so here goes:-

Hi people i recently bought a very well maintained 2.0 litre manual loads of service history .

a new clutch was fitted 2 years ago and 15k miles ago but i have to push the clutch right to the floor and it still grinds slighty whening going into reverse.

i was suprised when i tightened up the clutch cable on the clutch fork as i tightened it about 1 inch of thread and i thought great , then i got in the car and the clutch pedal was about 6 inches higher like almost touching the bottom of the dash .

any idea's please as i can't believe a genuine volvo clutch is knackered after only 15,000 miles and please note when i caine it in gear there is no clutch slip atall whatsoever.

also the previous owner's were sedate school teachers and not Boy racers or Girl racer's for that matter

cheers felyx
