No Reverse Gear

Im having a problem my car is not going into reverse. It feels like its in reverse but when I move it goes forward

i had taken off the gear box last week and changed the clutch pressure plate put everything back up and the car does not go into reverse since then.

N.B had no problems getting it into reverse befor except when the gear linkage that connects directly to the gearbox had a loose screw.

i checked that this time and nothing changed

realign the gear change mechanism. Disconnect the gearstick from the mechanism. Put the gearbox in reverse, not using the stick... Put the gearstick in the reverse slot (seen from under the car). Then thigthen the bolt again.
Probably you need to do this a few times until everything feels right again.

Also check the mechanism under the gearbox for wear.
