When I had my clutch fitted, the garage told me that my rear gearbox mount had fallen to bit (at the time I only had enough cash to get the clutch done) they put it back together and said it was drivable. Anyway....

...I am still strapped for cash, what does the job involve? How hard is it to do? blar blar blar any help would be great! :D

Tried this today but with no success. It's easy if you got a good set of tools (just 4 screw).

As discussed on MSN with a few people the other night, i'm gonna get going making the uprated poly mounts from my thread of 2005. Ordering a tin of flexane tomorrow to make one up, but Brasco gets first refusal, as he wanted one like ten years ago.

Price'd be around £45 plus postage including the remains of your old one, though i'm going to try and split the tin in order to make two, in which case the price would be 25+ post.

To replacxe, i recoment lowering the back of the subframe so the nuts are at the end of the bolts, and jacking the engine up to clear.
Its not too tough, but ratchet spanners or a flexy ratchet help a lot.

Yeah stress it. If you drop the frame down and one of those wires hook around something and pull then your in a mess before you even start.

a pic of the subframe or mount ?

That a auto subframe top of the front and bottom is where the mount should be.
