Why me??????
Today i think i had a little gremlin in my car.
After two day`s of driving in a cold snowy country without any
problems, the car, my lovely 480 did not want to start.
It went from starting without problems to not start at all.
I think it`s just the battery, because the batterygauge seems to be working correctly:
-when the car is running about 14-15 Volts.
-when it`s not about 8-9 Volts
I hate it
And it`s to cold now to work on the car.
And also sunday, no shops open
Why me?????????????????????????????

I suddenly lost all my charge too. tried starting the car and it just clicked. I had been using the self diagnostic feature previous which may have drained the battery. Make sure your battery levels are okay and then put it on charge, any place that sell battery's will have a tester to check the battery's condition.

There`s really a little devil in mine.
This morning it started fine, absolutly no problem at all
Checked every thing with a multimeter.
-battery is fine, no load almost 13V, when i start the car it also stay`s
above 12V
-Alternator is also working, 14.2V when charging.
But it`s not cold, the sun is shining.

does the starter motor run? or just a tick, or nothing ?
on all other cars than a 480 you can knock on the starter and than it runns, but its all build in. no nocking. maybe its time for a new starter? Beware : don't do this your selves, save you a lot of grey hair. It can take upto a day to swap em !
But no fear, hope its someting stupid like the cable connections,(terminals e.g.)
for the battery capacity (not your prob. I think) advice to all throw all mess out of your garages and put the car in 'warm"

Happy New Year to everyone, my 480 has been parked in front of my house for two weeks, without moving. Came home yesterday from my christmas holiday, car started like a dream first time, didnt even touch the accelarator. Was most proud of her, took her for a spin round town, it was like she had never been left. Love Toni
now driving a fiat cinquecento

I know about the starter-motor. I changed it last month.
It took me about 4 hours to swap it with a new one.
The old starter was completly broken, the rotor got stuck
and was burned beyond repair.
But to get back at my problem.
Took the alternator apart today, looked perfect.
Changed the small terminal on the alternator
Also found the neg-terminal on the battery cracked.
I hope the battery-terminal is the problem.
Tommorrow try to find a new one.
