480 Turbo Boost Adjustment possible?HELP!!!!

From CEM to VEM, from LED to lightbulb and more. If you have an electrical problem, like a broken info-centre, search for answers in this category. This is also the place to be when you expect the problem to be of an electrical nature...

Can anyone advise me as to what would happen if I twisted the actuator rod about 1/2 a turn to a turn to allow boost to the top of the orange on the boost gauge? After all, isnt the red section at the top the danger zone?Cheers,Cat Groom! :?

Should be OK as you are just changing when the actuator will open........well if you go easy that is!!!

this can be lots of things. note that the boost is in the end electronically controlled. Refer at the tuning/tweaking chapter, ask for jamo.
luck,

Hi,

I thought you were effectively fooling the electronic controls by doing this. The ECU pulses pressure to the actuator rod which opens the wastegate. By adjusting the rod you are then affecting the spring tension on the actuator so the ECU 'thinks' it is open when in fact it actually isn't.

Again, I will stand corrected if wrong, and hold no responsibility for blown heads etc.

I'd try a bleed or MBC.....kind of same difference and a hell of a lot easier to do. Speak to Dave (DBS) as he's got some.

John
