All the rear bulbs seem to be working, but the bulb failure light is staying on.....is there a way to reset it??

The bulb failure is attached to your DRL's too. If one of those is out, it'll stay on.

your Day Running Lights, dood (at the front!)! They're dual filament too, so check 'em with your pop-up's up and down. Should be brighter when down.

Hope this helps!

Hi, MISTA; if it's a DRL, get a new one from Volvo. Halfrauds will probably sell you a wrong one (it's to do with pin offset). Also, that warning bulb will come on if a headlamp dipped beam has failed.
Cheers, Chris.

The brake lights are connected to it as well, when you first turn the ignition on it the light stays on until you've pressed the brake pedal and then should go out once you have

The circuit diagram is in the download section on Dragon's website. Very useful.

Basically, when you press the brake it completes the circuit that, if all the bulbs are working turns the warning light off.

Check your central brake light is working... somehow it's easily overlooked. :dunno:

Ive checked all bulbs are working.....only thing is, although there are 2 rear foglights fitted to the car only 1 of them has any wiring connected to it.....is this the norm?????

Also, ive fitted new DRL bulbs....are they supposed to go dimmer when you switch your main lights on???

Grrrrrrrrr....frustrated!!

Yeh, only one fog light, apparently it's the law these days.

DRL's are supposed to go dimmer when your headlights are up.

I'm out of ideas I'm afraid.

DOH! Just read your windscreen wiper thread, it's the wire harness that's causing your bulb warning light to stay on.... the cable that connects to the middle brakelight is in that harness. If the insulation is off, water will have got in.... fix that and I promise, all will be well.

(well... perhaps promising that is a bit too much! )

Yeh older cars got 2 but volvo only fitted one proper one to later cars to save production costs. Here in the Uk by law you only need one foglight on the drivers side of the car(or the middle of the car).

I read somewhere that the reason cars have only 1 fog light at the rear is to do with the eye being able to see red. Some scientific study along the lines that everytime you see bright red, it damages the eye in some way. Prolonged expore to a bright red can actually make it more difficult to see red later on. Therefore it was introduced to only have one rear fog light (I think it's law also) on all new cars to reduce the risks. Best guess on the 2nd light, well it would look daft with only one there and as you don't generally use them, it wouldn't be a big deal that only one off them actually worked.

Ya lazy arse! Well, in that case I'd say it's a dodgy connection.

Hi!

In the rear (boot) left side the relay detecting broken bulbs is placed. This relay often wear out due to moisture and the bulbwarning comes on.

Yours probably dryed up.
