Right i have confused myself (again)

could some tell me where all the ecu's and what the are for??

i know the one in the boot is abs.

one behind the ash try is for turbo motors only but unsure exactly what it does................

The one in the centre console is the turbo's fuel and boost controlling box (I must stop using ECU to describe all the boxes, else volvofox will shout at me

Then you have the one in the footwell, which is the general computer (the real ECU) which controls everything else...

... and the one in the other footwell, which is the CEM (OK, so not an ECU), but it's yet another black box that controls things like the windscreen wipers, indicators, horn, alarm, central locking, heated rear screen....

So.... the complete list (as I understand it) is:

RHD Cars:
Drivers side footwell: Fuel ECU
Passenger side footwell: CEM

Possible Extras:
Turbo Models: Center Console (at front - not by seats): Turbo ECU
Pre- about '92: Boot: ABS ECU (moved to engine bay for later models).

LHD cars are the same as RHD cars, and the Fuel ECU and CEM remain in the same place physically, but the Fuel ECU becomes the passenger side and the CEM becomes the drivers side.

.... that's how I was under the impression it worked, anyway!
