Turning indicator(only the left ) problem, only when braking

From CEM to VEM, from LED to lightbulb and more. If you have an electrical problem, like a broken info-centre, search for answers in this category. This is also the place to be when you expect the problem to be of an electrical nature...

Turning indicator(only the left ) problem, only when braking

Post by TTT242 » Fri Nov 28, 2003 4:46 pm

ArghHHH, It's a long time that I was on the forum( about 2 years).
I now drive a V70 2.5T(whow, that goes fast, but sometimes I remember driving the 480 was very special :cryhard:, I still love that car ), the 480S is now for my brother and the 480Es for my mother. But when there are problems, it's still me to solve

The problem with the 480ES (1989) is as follows:
When the left turn indicator is on, everything blinks normal, but when I hit the brakes, the indicator doesn't flash any more(VERY DANGEROUS). When I release the breakes, the indicator starts flashing again. On the right side everything works normal.

I think the problem is a bad connection in the left tail light unit or the CEM.
Anybody an idea?
THX

There is a major earth point on the left side of the car, at the rear, below the light cluster.

The problem is solved: it was in the rear left light unit/cluster, one of the connector pins didn'y make any contact. I had to bend one of the pin, and everything is back to normal,
Thanks
