Check the switch on the brake pedal. Also check the bulbs (if you haven't already)

Hope you can get it sorted. :)

Yeah, if i remember rightly, you've got to do a sort of headstand into the footwell, put 1 leg on the sunroof, and another out the passenger window. Put 1 finger in the cigarette lighter socket and bend your back. Using your free hand, you might just be able to unscrew the awkward bastard switch thing!

Have fun!

when foot out of passenger window be careful not to touch the electic window switch!
Also, do not attempt this while driving, or engine running :D

I have never heard of that before. :? Sounds like it could be an ECU/CEM (I can never tell the difference) fault.

Hi John Denmead
Do not be afraid.
The indication to left or right direction does (I am pretty sure) not work via the CEM. The blinking itself goes via the CEM.
So if the indicators are blinking, the CEM is Oké.
Maybe some connectors have been wrong or not good been been put together in the dark.
Good Luck

What is the difference between a CEM and an ECU?

ECU = engine

CEM = central electric module = all the electrical gubbins that aren't connected to engine operation

I see.
So the CEM is the naughty one in our cars. :)

yes, although it seems to be grounding (earthing) points and corroded connectors that cause a lot of the problems.

mwoa, I dare to relativate this. the first time i went to a scrapper for 480 parts I was lucky to find the exact same CEM, so I bought it rightaway, because everyone was saying this was the worst aspect of the car, causing the most trouble. I have it laying in my workshop closet for 7 years.

Of course I try to swap it when I have trouble, but every time it is something else, something stupid like bad grounding, dirty connectors or switches....

Aldough it is thue it regulates the funniest things in the car, if not all, I am not that prejudged.

luck JPF

btw ECU means simply Engine Control Unit. You will never forget again.
luck,
JPF
