Starter motor

Post by Norm57 » Sat Apr 23, 2022 3:08 pm

Hi all. Having solved a few issue withR3 it has decided to throw a new one at me! Twice in last few weeks it has decided not to start although everything lights up on the dash and I get that beeping sound.today when this happened I surmised it must be the starter motor,so gave the casing a tap with a persuader(claw hammer). It fired up straight away. My question is could it be the starter motor itself or the solenoid? If it’s the starter does anyone have a spare or part number? It’s a 1.7 nas red dipstick engine.cheers Norman.

I was having trouble starting my car the other day. What I did was wiggle the starter motor cables and it fixed it. Possibly poor connections?

That was my initial thought but the connections seem ok.not dirty or loose.
