No Spark

My 480 has been on stands in the garage for a few months while I sorted some bodywork. I backed it out of garage today and it then stalled and wouldn’t restart, checked and didn’t have a spark.

After a couple of hours I tried again and it started for about 10 seconds then stalled again and then won’t start again.

I have swapped the ECU with a spare and it still won’t start so don’t think it’s that, can someone suggest where to look next please.

Are you getting fuel pump priming on cranking?
If not, maybe crank sensor?
King lead to coil ok?
Dizzy cap and rotor arm good?

Tonight it started fine but after 15-20 mins it stalled again and would not start again for a while then did start and ran for a few mins before stalling again and wouldn’t restart.

Dizzy cap and rotor arm replaced with new while sorting idle problem also crank sensor cleaned and checked with known good one for the same reason.

While it wouldn’t start I was able to find out no spark from end of king lead so changed that and still nothing.

Took coil unit from my 440 and installed it, started and stayed running for a further half hour before having to go in. While doing the swop I did notice one of the connectors has a broken clip but didn’t appear loose.

Not sure now if it was the connector, the coil or neither as it did come and go.

More trial and error needed to be sure before risking a long run.
