Crank Position Sensor Troubles

Post by Dean » Thu Sep 03, 2015 9:27 pm

Hello,

After changing the clutch on my B18FT I am no longer getting a spark. The fuel pump live wire is also not getting any volts.

I believe the crank sensor may be damaged - Does anybody know how to test the 3 wire crank sensor? I have searched and found info on the 2 wire but nothing for the 3 wire.

I have found there to be no continuity accross any of the 3 wires when trying to measure for resistance.

The 3d wire is a screen which is supposed to stop interference, so it has nothing to do with the actual working.
The pump live wire is activated after a certain rpm is detected, which in your case is not a fact.
The only simple way to check the sensor in an easy way is to measure the resistanse, which should be around 200 Ohms.
For a thorough check you need an oscilloscope.
But, as usual, the connections wil be lousy.
Too old to bother
