Hi Guys,
when I got the car it had the horn disconnected, its turns out this was done due to the alarm going off at random times, was going to try and swap out my CEM 1 as I have two spares, not sure this is a Volvo fitted alarm though , I dont have a remote either ...... it has the little key thing and an LED anyone recognise this ?
Would prefer to get it either removed or disabled

Re: Alarm
Looks like an old skool aftermarket immobilizer.
The factory alarm has no fob. It's turned on/off by the driver's door lock.

Re: Alarm
Thanks for the reply, so it's got nothing to do with the alarm then, I'll try swapping the cem see if it helps matters

Re: Alarm
Possibly, possibly not.
Hard to say, but chances are that it's not been linked across.
Thinking about it, if the immobilizer is playing up in any way and the alarm senses a volt drop, it could trigger the siren.

Re: Alarm
After market electronics especially remote entry and immobilisers even thatcham fitted are a complete waste of time effort and energy and are prone to failure or erractic behaviour. It wont be your cem its the after market unit.
Re: Alarm
Figured as much, some previous posts on the horn issue led to the CEM, but i don't think those guys had a parasitic ball of cabling wired into their car ...glasgowjim wrote:After market electronics especially remote entry and immobilisers even thatcham fitted are a complete waste of time effort and energy and are prone to failure or erractic behaviour.
