dead tacho - no signal?

From CEM to VEM, from LED to lightbulb and more. If you have an electrical problem, like a broken info-centre, search for answers in this category. This is also the place to be when you expect the problem to be of an electrical nature...

dead tacho - no signal?

Post by nowynowy » Tue Oct 14, 2014 11:10 pm

Hi, last thing that has to be sorted out is dead tacho. Everything else works just fine, i checked it on 2 different instrument clusters and no rpms. Therefore, i suppose that no signal is being sent. But that's everything what i was able to deduct. Any ideas where to start?

according to the info in the wiring diagrams below, the tacho gets it's signal from the ECU

maybe worth checking although not had this problem myself
