losing power at high revs

losing power at high revs

Post by evothinker5 » Tue Oct 22, 2013 9:43 pm

Hi to all!

having a problem when driving at high revs.. at 2000-3000 rpm the car runs smooth and good. but when it goes to 4000... its starts losing power . And this feeling is not permanent.. i mean sometimes it gives good power and sometimes i feel nothing.. I think its an electrical problem. I THINK THE FUEL DOESNT BURN 100% and it starts smoking sometimes(smells like the fuel is getting out without burning). maybe the spark is not efficient or maybe the MAF is not good anymore(but i tested it and its okay)

Please help me out with this!

As you say maybe the spark is not so good - plugs/HT side of ignition OK?

Is it more noticable with higher boost or just revs? Could be a boost leak or knock sensor??

I have no idea mate, it could be that but there are lots of different things it could be also. I was just trying to give a suggestion.
