info unit dies - pre 93 car a possible fix

From CEM to VEM, from LED to lightbulb and more. If you have an electrical problem, like a broken info-centre, search for answers in this category. This is also the place to be when you expect the problem to be of an electrical nature...

info unit dies - pre 93 car a possible fix

If your 480 has a 26 fuse fusebox this makes it an early 92 or pre 92 model and the info centre dies one day check the fuse to the door mirrors as the info centre is connected through that fuse .

Experience taught me about this one.

Handy to know, my 460 Turbo is a '92 so I'll have to remember this!

Just out of curiosity, are all info centres the same over the years and only the board changed??

I think the earliest ones had 2 red bars at the bottom for fuel. Other than that I would expect them to be the same but the pcb board to be different .

Ok cheers Jim.

I've seen a brand new old stock info unit for £60, toying with getting it but was wandering if it would fit either car if need be.

I bought both a new old stock PCB and Info Centre from Seymour Horwell - all works fine now apart from the instant / average MPG which sticks at 99.9. To be honest though, I'm happy just to get my fuel gauge back !!!!

Their list is a bit out of date as I bought in May and there were a couple of things that were already not available.
