Just finished what should have been a simple fan belt replacement. However, the alternator pulley did not line up with the crankshaft and power steering pulley (probable cause of belt failure) and the easy belt tensioner screw was sheared so I had to adjust with the old fashioned wrecker bar method.
So engine is running ok with alternator adjusted ok now but I also found this yellow wire going to nowhere - can anyone tell me what it is please.
Car is a K reg TT (ie 2l) Picture is pre my adjustment - the yellowy bush had been put on the inside of the bracket instead of outside.

Re: Yellow Wire Query
its for the oil pressure gauge that fitted under the radio.
Re: Yellow Wire Query
What he said !
I had a battery drain and presumed it was due to this wire being 'loose' as everything else seemed ok including earths etc. So I had it looked at when in for a service, and they also said it was for the optional oil / battery gauge.
