Please can anybody tell me how to regulate the MAF with a multimeter? what pins to verify and what values must indicate the multimeter. Because my cars consumption in about 25 liters per 100km
Thanks in advance

Re: MAF Regulation
Maybe this topic can help you?
after over 10 years parted with the 1995 Volvo 480 ES 2.0
Re: MAF Regulation
The advised topic is about a lot of people not exactly knowing what they are doing, including the use and connection of LEDs, except for Pruen. And then, due to the fact that all kinds of different looms and colors are used, his directions may only be valid under specific circumstances.
And "adjusting" the MAF requires removing the cover and fiddling within, which is not advisable for laymen. I assume adjusting the CO-pot is meant here, which can be done without much hassle.
There are two basic settings, measured with an Ohm-meter between connector pins 2 and 6. The numbers are indicated in very small print above the connector. The values are about 320Ω without and 530Ω with modification of the ECU.
Now the car, at low revs, in high gear and very easy on the throttle, should easily accelerate without any protest. If not, adjust, mostly by ½ turn to the right, repeated until the desired effect is achieved. Remember your turns, in case of MOT you may have to return to basics.
This in no way has any negative influence on the overall fuel consumption. It only has an effect on idle and driving under very low load and will only be effective when the car is in good condition. So if your fuel consumption is excessive you will have to check on other things, like having the right combination of ECU's, the ECU's, MAF and injectors being in good condition, fuel pressure, you name it.

Re: MAF Regulation
I'm sorry for asking but the resistance between pins 2 and 6 must be 382 Ohm with engine started or not???
Re: MAF Regulation
You may have to post in another thread. There was no mention of 382Ω here.

Re: MAF Regulation
Gents, I found this on the Volvo Romania club site...
http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j& ... lT5U5sIkcw
I was wondering how to adjust the CO-content / 'CO pot' using the MAF also and was confused by the blue tamper proof cap / plug, so pages 5 and 6 were useful for me. No idea about these LED testers I just wanted to increase the resistance up a little from base value to slightly increase the mixture.
If the link above doesn't work the page can be located by typing "volvo 480 adjusting co content maf volvo-club.ro" into a search engine. As above I will take care with adjusting this as I am sure more harm than good can be caused by someone who is not experienced with these (like me)....hence Volvos attempts to make this tamper proof....

Re: MAF Regulation
OK folks finally got around to doing this.....
1. Remove MAF meter....
2. Check resistance between pins 1 and 6
3. Yes that's 1 and 6, not 2 and 6 shown in link above
4. Remove tamper proof cap.....
5. Turn clockwise to increase CO....in my case two turns to the right gave a 141 ohm increase to 541, so I left that as my final value.
Cheers!
