reverse light switch

a question: is the switch near the gearshift mechanism, under the actual transmition the one? do i have to drain the gearbox oil to remove the switch? i got manual trans.

If you stand for the car, it`s the switch on the right of the gearbox.
If you take the wheel of you can see it.
I think if you take the switch out, the box is gonna leak oil.
But if you have a new switch, you can change it without leaking to much.

does a faulty switch result in the reverse light staying on even if the car is turned of ?

if how much does one swith cost and/or is repair possible ?

Id have thought that would have something to do with the power source or the earth than the switch. There shouldn't be any power when the car's off. :eek:
