Problem with Info Centre

Post by bigdickbuster » Sun May 08, 2011 9:20 pm

Hello. This is the message from my friend, which is a 480 user, registered on this Forum, but he lost his password and have no possibility to access.
---

In my car S 94' I hadn't originally IC but bought it, colors of plugs are the same as in car: green and gray. Speedometer, tachometer and odometer are working. Avg speed, range, external temperature, oil and engine also working good. I have problem with average and instantaneous consumption. Average consumption still show 0 liters / 100km. When the car stops at a red light inst fuel show "- - -" and when i move inst fuel after a while show "0 liters / 100km"
I checked injectors signal from ECU (26 pin) and in grey plug (5 pin) in instruments and multimeter shows voltage 14.3-15V.
What can I check more to fix it?

Any ideas will be appreciated :)

Regards, swital and bdbuster

The fact that it shows '- - -' when stationary and zero when moving shows that its getting a speed signal for the consumption calculation.

Probably the MFU on the back of the infocentre is broken or has a bad connector. The MFU calculates the fuelconsumption from the info coming from the ecu and speedo sensor.

Make sure that the MFU (the little circuit board under the white cover) matches the one for your car.

For example. If you use one from a Turbo and you've got a 2.0, it won't calculate MPG, atlthough the rest of the settings will work. This sounds like the behavior you're experiencing..

This will help you
