Speedo problems

Post by Julian » Thu Mar 18, 2004 4:26 pm

I own a 1993 480 ES 2.0i and recently had to get a new clutch. this wasn't cheap and when I got the car back the speedo doesn't work anymore. the garage says everything is connected up and should be working fine but it isn't and they want another £100 to fix it which is bloody rediculous since they messed it up in the first place  . You got any ideas at all on how to fix this annoying problem. Cheers.

I would tell them to fix it or give the money you paid back, charging for problems they started is not allowed here.. If the garage is part of a larger branche-organisation I would contact them and explain what happened. Or inform the garage you would do so if they don't fix the problem they created.

the sensor for the speedo is located behind the starter quite hard to get to you will need little fingers .-- but as Coyote says - speak to the manager or even better if they have a head office , get in touch with them . they must know what is wrong---- (what they did ) ---if they quoted you a price on the repair
