no back lights, info center lights

From CEM to VEM, from LED to lightbulb and more. If you have an electrical problem, like a broken info-centre, search for answers in this category. This is also the place to be when you expect the problem to be of an electrical nature...

no back lights, info center lights

Post by martinholmesuk » Wed Feb 25, 2004 8:39 pm

OK I have more working dash lights now but I have no speedo / rev / info center back lights , I used to have mega dim speedo back light so I took every bulb out and check them and found none of the bulbs to be faulty.

What have I done wrong? I noticed the back light bulbs have a odd sized one what is smaller.

:badmood:

I got to drive tomorrow morning to my back lights.

First thing i'd check which can be easily overlooked is the dimmer variable resistor switch thing on the lower steering column shroud. Make sure it's plugged in and works. None of the dash lights work without it.

it's often the case when you remove the dsah, I think the sudden movements break the fragile filaments.
