Martin, Not sure about your local Halfords Store, but my brother was down at ours getting me some antifreeze and he rung me to say that Bosch HT leads were on sale.

So i got a set of Bosch Leads for my 740 for £22.
Euro carparts quoted £30 for non descript ones.

The bosch one's are really good, at first i thought they were the wrong ones but they just have very tight connections the distributor end which is excellent, as other leads i have had have been rather loose.

Hi Guys,

I know this has been asked a thousand times before but did you notice much difference on changing them?

Also, anyone know anything about those ones they sell in halfords singly...they are silicone and come in 6/7/8mm...they are orange or yellow depending on size.

Cheers

John

Magnecor 8.5mm KV85 racing leads for me.
Me too.

Primarily designed for racing engines using racing ignitions, turbocharging and supercharging. Entire jacket made from aerospace extreme heat-resistant silicone rubber. Exclusive Magnecor 2.5mm Metallic Inductance Suppressed Conductor will suppress EMI indefinitely, allowing this cable to be used on road vehicles with any ignition. Can be fitted into most original lead holders

johnd, i think you're talking about their 'Hot Wires'. A friend bought them before and they looked shit as they were random sizes. They have about 10 different lengths and you choose from the book suitable lengths. They came up too long.

Hmmm.....POL, yeah they're the buggers.

Anyone actually found that silicons make much of a difference though?

I can honestly say yes. They seem to give the engine more power when its cold. So better starting.
