Alarm probs after replacing cilinder

From CEM to VEM, from LED to lightbulb and more. If you have an electrical problem, like a broken info-centre, search for answers in this category. This is also the place to be when you expect the problem to be of an electrical nature...

Alarm probs after replacing cilinder

Post by Siegbert » Thu Jan 29, 2004 9:34 am

Hi there,

Recently the garage has installed a new door in my 480. The replaced the lock in the new door, with the cilinder of the old lock.
Now they tell me that the alarm doesn't stop when opening the front door.

Does anyone know if we have to do something else ?
Reset something ? Turn of the power ?

Greetz

They probably haven't connect a wire properly. The CEM incorporates an alarm which gets triggered as soon as you lock the door with the key. It senses if a door, the hood or the tailgate gets opened and then uses the horn to sound the alarm. PLease have them check the wiring in the door , especially the lock, and the "door closed" sensor, because there is something wrong in there.
