Hi there,
I picked up a spare CEM3 from Ebay this week since my rev counter keeps fading in and out amongst other foibles. Having taken the cover off the replacement it looks like one of the capacitors has done a wee. Piccie for those that want to see!
Does anyone know where a replacement cap could be got and where I could get it soldered on? It says 220uF, 35V but not sure whether there's anything else special about it?
Thanks for any pointers
David

take a trip to your local maplin store and you will be able to get another cap from there. as for soldering just go gently with a soldering iron.

Cheers BFK, I'll pop down there and get their eyes on it too. Hopefully it's just glue

If it is a firm type of "foam" then its not broken.
The electrolytic capacitor has an oily feeling dampish insulator inside not that stuff so its meant to be there. stick it in and see what happens.
