Re: central locking probs
Searching the forums would have let you to the answer As there is only a locking motor on the passenger side, you can only central lock the two doors, if you use the driver's side lock (this will activate the locking motor on the passenger side) Well using the lock on the passenger side should at least lock the passenger side though

Re: central locking probs
Hmm this might be caused by the CEM. Althouhg might be only bad contacts/wires.Yozman2000 wrote:Perhaps i wasn't clea r, i meant that when i lock the drivers door the passenger side door locks and then unlocks or doesn't respond at all.

Quagmire ?????
I am getting confused with the interlacing of threads here. The CEM does not affect the running of the car engine will work without a cem being plugged in.
this answer for quagmire not anyone else . If you want an answer go get your own answer

Re: central locking probs
Yozman2000, did you find a solution? My 95 GT started playing silly beggers yesterday.
I can unlock the entire car with the key in the drivers door but as soon as I open the driver's door the passenger's door re-locks itself and the alarm turns on (I can still drive it even when the alarm is on, turning on the ignition turns off the alarm LED).
If I then open the driver's door, the passenger's door unlocks - I close it, it locks again!
Sometimes none of this happens! We get in the car and all is normal, I start the engine and a few seconds later the passenger's door locks! Turn off the ignition and the alarm LED starts flashing immediately.
If I leave the keys in the ignition and get out of the car, chances are that opening the driver's door a second time in order to get back in will trigger the alrm leading to a demonstration of the car's horn!
My suspicion is that it is related to the driver's door courtesy switch or a fractured wire in the door loom. Any thoughts?

Re: central locking probs
I had similar problems with my drivers door a couple of years ago.
Turned out to be a faulty dip switch in the door lock mechanism. This upset the car in knowing if the door was locked or not and opened or closed the passenger door and alarm at will. (favourably in the middle of the night pissing the neighbours off)
They replaced dipswitch and problems solved.
Hope this helps.

Re: central locking probs
To prevent confusion, the "dipswitch" has nothing to do with the lights & is more usually called a microswitch. (If I understand this correctly).Renter wrote:I had similar problems with my drivers door a couple of years ago.

Re: central locking probs
Had the same problem on my TT
Replaced all the lock bits in the passenger door - no change
Went through as much of the wiring as I could find - no change
In the end the cure was simple...
Disconnect the central locking, problem solved
