Just wondered how fast everyones alarm led goes

mine goes 2maybe 3 a second is that the sign of a fault

Older 480's didn't have them.
I don't know when they came in though

Isuspect in the modelyear 1992-3 is when they started getting them

I think they came with the introduction of CEM III.

Yes, think that is the best assumption to make. Technology for a flashing LED won't be present in the earlier CEM's.

This is semi confirmed in VADIS as it says (in the CEMIII section) that the alarm led mimicks the LED in the self diagnosos unit, so you can watch the alarm led for fault codes for those tests that need the ignition turning to kick them off (such as the cyclical tests)
