Instant fuel consumption

From CEM to VEM, from LED to lightbulb and more. If you have an electrical problem, like a broken info-centre, search for answers in this category. This is also the place to be when you expect the problem to be of an electrical nature...

On page 63 you can find the wiring diagram for the instant fuel. It''s in dutch, but the schemes are international used. I suspect a bad MFU which does the mathematics from the info delivered by ecu (opening time of injectors) and speedometer for the info centre. The MFU is the small triangular circuit board which is located at the backside of the instrument cluster behind the white plastic cap. Check all the soldering points with a magnifying glass on the MFU. Could be something simple as that which makes resistance too high. Or change the MFU but be sure to get the right type for your car. They're not interchangeable between engine types/MY.
And check all the connectors from the speedometer to the board and the wiring loom from the multi switch to the MFU, the broad grey one.
