Help with antifreeze

very new to maintaining my own car, need to do the anti freeze apparently, driving 480ES, any help on what to do and how to do it, before i make a mistake, by trying on my own would be great. Newly separated mum of 3 who needs the car to work over the winter.

please help me, dont make me ask the ex hubby for help, he cancelled my insurance and tax, i sorted that, i can do a 250 mile round trip each weekend, and i check my oil and water and as taught my tyres, PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS ONE

Hi Witchone,

On reading your two messages I got an image from Harry Enfields' show with the Liverpudlians running around, 'calm down, calm down'.

I cannot remember the exact procedure for checking the content of antifreeze but I am sure one of our friends on this site will. Pretty straightforward and the worse case is pop into Halfords and they will check it at no cost and advise how much you need to add.

Thanks Chris, might try Halfords tomorrow, but will they get me for being a woman. lol. if they do i will send them to this site

Go get em! Or send them to us and we will sort them out!

You should have no problem for all we may knock Halfords they are OK at simple stuff like this.

Nice guys at halfords did my antifreeze for me for nothing.
They also advised my car needs a service, but that can wait till the new year, skint at the moment. Will phone around for quotes before committing myself to halfords.

Last service was May 2003, have a service booked for next month, when my money situation should be better. I am hoping to go to the 480 meet as long as my car is working fine. If its still in May then i should have fun big time as both mine and new partners birthdays fall that weekend. My new partner is a life long friend, who is also godfather to my children, he was born two days before me and has always lived next door to my parants, he came to visit me when the situation arose with my husband, and we have now entered a relationship together. But he doesnt love my car as much as me, he loves his punto power.
