Heater matrix hose replacement

Post by gltease » Thu Jan 04, 2024 4:24 pm

Hi All,
What's the best option when replacing this now discontinued hose, do I need to get a replacement with the cuffed end on it.
This is the pipe coming from the heater matrix at the firewall joining the steel pipe with the beaded end.

This is the leaky pipe.

That wiggly f****r blew up on me too. I got a second hand one but was considering making it up from universal stuff from ASAP Supplies. I guess you have noticed that the ends are different sizes and it originally had a metal heat protection sleeve due to proximity to the exhaust manifold.

Yes, the size difference was noticed, I'll try my parts car at the weekend, but it's a slightly different engine.. Other than that I'll get something fabbed up... Not complicated, just a little awkward...

I was talking to Samco about building replacement hoses.
They wanted £80 per bend for making the tooling, then you paid the price of the hose, and they retained rights to the tooling..

I suppose for a simple hose like that it may be worth it.
