Can anyone suggest which gasket manufacturers to avoid and which have pedigree? I'm doing the cylinder head gasket while engine is out.
I'm seeing Victor Reinz, Elring, Payen, Ajusa and Corteco in the listings.
Any recommendations?

Anything that is OE quality - do not buy from online sources, where you are unsure of the buyer's repute - there are fakes everywhere. Out of those manufacturers, I recognise Payen, Elring and Corteco.

but given the adage, 'if ain't broke , don't fix it', why ?
the head bolts are/were chuffing tight, I used a large 12" shifter around the arm of the allen key (rather than bend the arm)
