Timing belt

Post by frenchfries » Mon Jul 10, 2017 9:37 pm

Hi all

Skip will be at the garage for a few repairs and I will have the timing belt done as well.

As I mentioned before it was done last in 2010 and has since done 3000 miles. Should I go for the belt or a kit? Prices vary on Ebay, what would you suggest as I am likely to bring it to my Volvo guy :)

Do a kit - May as well replace the tensioners at the same time, so you've a level playing field to start from.

Do a kit and replace the water pump and the alternator belts as well; it will set you back maybe 50 pounds extra but it will save you a lot of trouble in the future.
