Help needed!

Post by cranna21 » Thu Sep 15, 2016 8:39 pm

Hi folks, Question for anyone near ish to the York 'u pull it' scrapyard!

They have a 2.0 480 there, and I'm looking for the throttle body off of it! I emailed asking if they would take it off and post it up the country to me (Aberdeenshire scotland) but they said it was against company policy!

I was wondering if anyone local would do me a massive favour and go get it for me? They were only looking for £5 or something for it, (my mate was there but had no tools) would anyone manage to go get it off and post it up to me? Cash provided for postage ect!

Alternatively, does anyone have one lying around they'd sell me for much cheapness??

Cheers in advance

sounds ideal Alan!

unless they don't actually fit onto 1.7's, which reading up on i think might be the case haha!

however if you're heading through anyway, let me know when, if you're taking your 480 i'd love to actually see another one in the flesh!

Fraser

I thought you had a 1700 but didn't question the 2litre, from memory they are NOT the same!!

the throttle body from 2 litre has four HORIZONTAL M5 or M4 bolts holding it to manifold and plumbing for wtaer heating and breather from crankcase . . . .
Actually planning to take the SS1 !!

but only if not hissing down, though forecast looks OK (maybe)

i'll send you my mobile number in a PM,

Alan

good to meet up with you and see what you are planning, a bit envious of the shiney motor , I'll better get the polish out

still looking for the two litre inlet manifold, I may have decided to re-cycle it. . . . . . :(

I'll have another look through the week
