Resonance on exhaust around 2.000 rpm

I have a noise resonance at 2.000 rpm. Starts around 1.800 up to 2.300 more or less. It comes from the engine bay, and it doesn't change moving the engine when it's running so I discard the engine mounts. I think it is the exhaust but no leaks has been found.

It sounds with the car stopped or running.

It has been reduced after I've done 1.500kms wirh the car, now it is not so loud, but still there. Anyone has something similar?

I see this silent block in bad condition but I don't think it can be the cause.

It would be nice to solve it now, that the interior is very quiet. Not bad for a 20 years old car.

Any ideas?

well, yes, that's a good solution, specially if I listen to hard metal.
I know, perfection doesn't exist...but it's so nice when everything works as it best.

Is the catalytic converter rattling?

Check out the videos on you tube to see if it sounds similar to what you have.

I used to have a similar resonance, turned out to be a result one of the heat sheilds on the bulkhead being loose (pulled through rivet(s)).

I made a video but it doesn't sound very good. I have to make it better.

I think it is not the catalytic, it is not metalic noise but a very bass noise.

When I show it to the mechanic he thought directly to a vibration produced by the silent blocks of the engine, but they were ok. Maybe the silent block of the underframe or as you said the heat shield.

I heard this very similar noise recently in a completly different car, a citroen C5 HDI MkII with 170.000 kms.

Try you tube

Using a jack gently as shown in the video could also help in diagnosis.

Worth a try.

That's it man. It's a noise quite similar to that.
Now it's time to look for the culprit silentblock
thanks

Hi! Solved?
I'm afraid not. The car is stored since then.
