Engine just died

Post by Dancing Demon » Sun Jun 21, 2015 5:11 pm

I am standing at edge of M25 awaiting recovery. The engine just died in the outside lane......
It refused to restart - hence recovery. However some 30 mins later it started normally. and I have then driven it the 25 miles home.

A bit more detail - on the way home it was driving normally and suddenly lost power, on trying to accelerate hard it suddenly appeared to pick up but just for a second or so and then just died.

Possibly co-incidental, but the weather was certainly warm today, and this is the longest run it has been on this year, and it hasn't been used for about a month.

All advice as to where to look to make sure it doesn't happen again would be much appreciated!

Thanks

Chris

Could be a vapour lock and can be sorted by just taking off the paterol cap and then retightening it. Seen it happen to a 480.
