Overboosting Turbo

Hi.

My Robou modded Turbo auto is overboosting like crazy.

Only had it a month or so and it's done it since I bought it.

Straight from a standing start, the boost goes straight past the red on the guage, then it repeatedly misfires. Presumably because I've hit boost cut.

My 460 Turbo auto (also Robou modded) holds back the boost in first and second, but no hint of this on the 480.

The 480 has a blue ECU, and the 460 burgandy/red.

I've checked all the vacuum hoses I can see and I can even feel the vacuum at the ECU connection at idle.

I should add that it's had VAG recirc valves fitted by it's previous owner, Jamesy12345.

Got me stumped, any ideas anyone??

As you mentioned a name and my mod I feel free to give you some information:
In October 2012 I was informed about this problem which existed before the ECU was modified.
The blue ECU has the number 267.22 on the white label.
I advised as follows:
The (injection) cutting off is caused by the safety precautions I moved to a higher level than standard. It is advised to perform a reset after an occurance.
Indeed best to check are the three tubes connected to the solenoid. Be careful when removing them, the plastic of the solenoid may have become bristle. And check if they are connected correctly, you have an example. But first of all check the resistance between the two electric connector pins, it should be about 30 Ohms. If they are shorted a transistor inside the ECU will blow and if you exchange parts between the two cars you may end up with two defective ECUs.

The ECU was shipped after thourough testing and found in good order. There was no follow-up.

Are you saying that James had this problem before you modified his ECU?

I'll check out what you suggest, do you mean the boost solenoid on the bulkhead?

I must add that I'm very happy with the ECU in the 460, it's hilarious to see peoples faces when the rear starts to squat as it comes on boost!

Also, is the fly-lead attatched to each unit purely to reset it?
And what would happen if the jumper was left connected?
