What other cars does 2.0L engine come in?
Engine is good in car currently, but a bit smokey
On the look out for another engine, just in case...
Did the same engine come in any Renaults of the era, Laguna, Megane? etc..?

Oooh thats interesting, Jim do you know if anyone has tried putting the F7R-xxx = 1998 cc 16-valve with EFI into a 480?

some of the guys over on V3M forum have done this to their 300-series cars, and I have been a passenger in a (scary) Renult 5 with this engine, so can be done I think. Lacking a bit in torque maybe. Personally I prefer a turbo to an N/A with extra valves...although both would be nice e.g. T4 engine, turbo and 16 valves

That said a tuned B18FT engine is not so far behind a T4....

Is the F7R-xxx = 1998 cc the same block tho, just a 'simple' like for like drop in? That sounds very appealing compared to a rebuild- do we know which Renaults it was used in? Just mental Clios?

Oohh, so I could have a Clio 6 speed gearbox fitted at the same time? -Also could the 16v cylinder head be transplanted onto the standard Volvo block?

that's beyond my skills...no idea. And sounds like a whole lot of effort for 175 torques! Even the T4 'only' has 300 Nm while it's not hard to get 250 from a B18FT. I'm not convinced....6 gears would be nice tho, my 4 do the job although probably don't help with fuel consumption! I guess if u r doing an engine swap for better power to weight then mpg is not high on the list of New Years resolutions))

Yes you are right of course, I just like to know these things and as and trade up a little when things wear out
