Oil separator removal on a B20F engine

Post by paky » Fri Feb 05, 2010 9:49 am

Hi.
I cannot find any info about removing the oil separator on my 2.0 litre B20F engine.
I have a new one ready to go in and it looks like it's just a push in job.
I would have thought that it should be more secure.
Any help.
I dont believe it, but there you go.

I believe it is just a push in job. I remember mine being a pain to remove though. I think I had to give it some assistance with a hammer - knocking it from side to side to free it.

Thanks Ben.

Did you have to tap in the new one with a hammer or just give it a twist?

Any danger of it blowing out if not secure enough?

I wasn't replacing mine - just cleaning it. I don't remember having to use a hammer to put it back in, but knowing me, I probably did! :D There isn't any kind of latch/clipping mechanism holding it in place. I didn't have any issues with it coming off again by mistake afterwards either.
