dumb question lol... wheres the starter motor located?

heya, im tryin hard as hell to find where my starter motor is located on my 1989 480 t, but i just cant find the dam thing.
haynes repair manual says to d/c the battery, jack it up on axle stands, take off the air cleaner and then start takin off the starter motor... it dont show or say where exactly it is

ive looked all around, and i just cant seem to find it anywhere 0_o

can anyone show me a picture of where it is, or give a description of where it is? i would very much appreciate it thanks

It's located under the turbo exhaust manifold and bolted to the gearbox.

PITA location. I removed/fitted them 3 times.

there was a humerous pic on here showing diagramatically how it may be found... wish i could find it.

The starter is located at the rear of the engine, underneath the exhaust manifold and sort of in front of the turbo. seriously tho, its a nightmare, i have pretty long skinny hands/arms and i could only just touch some of the bolts at a stretch. i ended up giving it to the garage becuase i was low on persistance at the time. it can be changed at home tho, as others will prove.
