Rotor arm removal

Post by Richard Kenward » Sat Aug 25, 2007 9:07 am

How the heck does one remove the rotor arm on a GT 1994 please? I tried the normal way of just trying to pull it off but that failed. Tried levering it off with a screw driver and still it would not budge! Any help would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks

Richard

Try harder! Expect grazed knuckles and elbows. Or chisel it off and get a new one?

Should* pull off.

Don't slip when trying to remove it. You could damage the sill.

soak it overnight in WD40

Thanks for the encouragement! I thought that I had applied sufficient force with the screwdriver and that I had seek help. I have of course bought a replacement and from looking at it it is just a simple push on job. There is what appears to be a retaining hoop of wire at the base of the replacement rotor arm.

Cheers

Thanks. Earlier today I tried everything to remove it and in the end had to drill it off the shaft. I have put some oil on the shaft in the hope that the replacement rotor arm will be easier to remove when the time comes! The good news is that the car is now running fine. Thanks everyone for the support.

Cheers
