What sensor is this ?

All the information you need on engine-problems is here. The engine includes the Turbo-charger, airco and everything else you'll find under the bonnet.

What sensor is this ?

Post by glasgowjim » Tue Aug 14, 2007 10:11 pm

Sorry camera down and mobile phone pictures are a waste of time. (dont even think of mentioning Voldemorts book of lies!)
Need to know what the sensor is ...
standing at the OSF wheel looking along the engine of a B20F 1993 ES 2,0ltr 480 just below the distributor cap and on the side of the engine facing the back of the car is a lone single spade sensor it is 19mm head on it on it what one is it as I need to know where the coolant temperature sensor is and HBOL is useless. Tried looking at GAZ'S downloaded volvo parts manual but had to give up in defeat.

Rememebr to type slowly as you are talking to a reetard but good on a banjo>>>>

:)

The sensor with the single spade you are talking about is the coolant temperature sensor for humans. It feeds the Infocenter or gauge on the dash.

The ECU sensor is the one near sparkplug No1 (clutch end), and is semi hidden by the oil seperator, plug leads, and throttle body. It is on the front of the engine. It has a two pin 'proper' plug going to it. It's a bit tricky to get to, to unplug it, as getting to the spring clip isn't easy.

Hope that helps
