Need some help whit IDLE problems (3000rmp)!!!!

Post by EnZo » Thu May 31, 2007 12:44 pm

I hope i will get some help! i read topics about bad idle but nothing helped!
1.i change MAF senzor!
2.i change idle valve whit a new one (model whit 3 wires)
3.i reset ecu 5 times
4.i get ecu off and look in it for some problems but all is fine
5.i change fuel pression rugulator
6.change vacum tubes
7.change the senzor from the maniford that is connected whit the acceleration(don't know what is the name in english)

but times to times i have idle problems , my car work fine about 1 or 2 day or 1 week or 1 mounth then start the engine 3000rpm(or in driving stundley the idle go to 3000rpm) to fix just open the bonet, take off the plug from idle valve put it back on whit the engine running and idle drops normal about 900 rpm!
what could be the problem ?

Sorry for my bad english, i hope you undestand something!

MAF sensor? This is an ES right? Do you mean the GM map sensor?

I have had the same problem. My problem was that I misconnected two connectors, resulting in a baked ECU. The car ran, but the idle control was smoked.
I suggest, replacing the ECU. Or at least open it...

Well, if it's not an ECU problem it could simply be a loose connection at the idle valve, or a stickin valve.

Rather than unplug the idle valve, try hitting it gently with the engine running, and see if that causes the rpm to drop back to normal. If so, it may just need greasing. As even if it's a replacement one it may have been standing for a bit.
